Follow us on FacebookAbout Jetset Pets I mean lets face it, you get home from work after a crappy day and who is the first one to greet you at the front door. Who is always happy to see you no matter what mood you're in? You work hard all year for that holiday and to spend time with the ones you love and your poor old mate gets shipped off to the kennels because you couldn't find any decent accommodation that would accommodate the whole family - two and four legged. From there, I started with a pet-friendly property in Ballina - 'North Terrace'- about 5 years ago. North Terrace is located just metres from Ballina's North Creek so you have swimming, fishing and boating virtually at your front door while enjoying all the best that the Northern Rivers area has to offer. I found lots of people love Ballina and the Northern Rivers area so now North Terrace is enjoyed by people from the world over, dog lovers or not, for their annual holidays. We have people stay from as far away as England, New Zealand and Western Australia or as close to home as Lismore and the Gold Coast who just want to 'escape the rat race' if only for a weekend. Bali Hai is my latest project. It is located at the sourthern end of the Gold Coast at North Kirra, and is 200m walk to a dog friendly (leashed) beach. Bali Hai Ideal for those people that want to enjoy the delights of the Gold Coast, without all the hustle and bustle. I started it nearly 3 years ago - it is a trial for a purpose built pet-friendly boutique apartment complex to begin construction in the next couple of years in the same location - 'Golden Paws on Golden Four'. It will be a mix of owner/occupied and holiday accommodation apartments. It will have all the benefits of apartment living - no grass to mow or building maintenance to worry about plus the community lifestyle and security that goes with apartment living but designed with the furry members of the family in mind. Pet-friendly apartments are extremely difficult to find on the Gold Coast, little own designed with our pets in mind and that does not have a 10kg weight limitation in place on the pet. My 35kg Golden Retrievers are better behaved (and quieter!) than most Maltese Terriers I know!! (no offence to those of you reading this that own a Maltese) If you, or anyone you know, would be interested in purchasing an apartment and being a part of our future development (either as an owner occupier or for investment) or just want to know what's happening, please let me know and I will put you on the mailing list to keep you up to date with our progress..... In the meantime, I hope you enjoy your stay with us at either Bali Hai or North Terrace and I hope to see you again in the not too distant future. Introducing the rest of the Jetset Pets Team...... Cruise spent the first years of his life as a stud dog (fathering over 250 puppies in his day) and came to Nicole having had very little human contact at the age of 4. He is now in retirement at the ripe old age of 12. Cruise is the 'Chief Footwarmer' within the Jestset Pets office and can always be found in what he thinks is his den, spending countless hours under the computer desk. He takes a brief break during his tough day for a long walk in the park, a jaunt to the beach and if he goes missing in action around lunch time, you usually find he's jumped the fence and taken up residence under the table at the local 'Big Cheifs Burgers' in the hope of a quick bite to eat. Holly now 11, came to Nicole as a 12 week old pup and was one of 12 in her litter. Holly's had a busy life, having lived through a couple of floods in Lismore and a house fire on the Gold Coast and now likes to take life pretty slow and her stubborn nature means she'll do her work in her own time. Holly now fills her day as a Nanny, taking care of the newest edition to the Jetset Pets family, Moet. Moet came to Nicole as a Christmas present in the form of a tiny, 6 week old kitten from the RSPCA. For Nicole, this experience with the RSPCA demonstrated the great work this organisation does, and the need for their continual support from us animal lovers. Imagine the fate of this poor little kitten, and her brothers and sisters, without them. Moet, now 6 months old, has settled in to the Jetset Pets office nicely. She does experience a bit of an 'Identity Chrisis' at times, and really thinks she's a dog. Don't be decieved by her sweet and innocent appearance - she keeps those two Goldent Retrievers on their toes! Her main role in the Jetset Pets office is to provide the much needed light heartedness and comic relief in those times of stress and tension! I hope that your 4 legged members of the family bring you as much joy to you as mine do to me - They really are little people in fur coats! |
